Your Highness is Lord of the Rings meets Monty Python and the Holy Grail on crack. It’s incredibly stupid yet it’s entertaining. A lot of the key scenes that sets itself up to be funny fall flat and end up being a waste. Not to worry, there are enough jokes and gags that keeps the movie moving with its wonderful cast.
Natalie Portman is awesome, she knows how to kick ass, but unfortunately you will not see her until the half way mark. She really saved this movie and made it worth while. Danny McBride plays the goof as he always does but he never gets tiring. James Franco’s funny as McBride’s hero brother Fabious. It’s obvious that everyone was having a blast while filming this movie, the chemistry’s wonderful.
Your Highness is violent for a comedy which caught me by surprise yet it’s efficient much like Pineapple Express was. The jokes are dirty and at times worth ignoring, but overall it is a fun adventure. The set design is beautiful and the creatures look fantastic. Just watch out for the Wise Wizard and the Minotaur!
